1οΈβ£ Peel and cut the potatoes
Cut into classic fry shapes or thin sticks.
2οΈβ£ Rinse + soak
Rinse the fries under cold water, then soak 20β30 minutes to remove extra starch.
(This makes them super crispy!)
3οΈβ£ Dry well
Pat the potatoes dry completely with a towel.
4οΈβ£ Mix with cornstarch
Add 1 tbsp cornstarch and toss to coat.
This gives them that perfect crunch.
5οΈβ£ First fry (low heat)
Fry in medium-hot oil (300Β°F / 150Β°C) for 3β4 minutes.
They should soften but NOT brown yet.
Remove and let rest 10 minutes.
6οΈβ£ Second fry (high heat)
Increase heat to 375Β°F / 190Β°C.
Fry again until golden and crispy.
7οΈβ£ Season
Immediately sprinkle with salt and your favorite spices.
