Hungarian Lángos Recipe

Ingredients

  • 500 g all-purpose flour
  • 250 ml warm milk
  • 10 g dry yeast
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • oil for frying

Toppings (classic)

  • garlic (crushed + water)
  • sour cream
  • grated cheese

Instructions

  1. Mix yeast, warm milk, and sugar. Let sit 10 minutes.
  2. In a bowl combine flour, salt, oil, and yeast mixture.
  3. Knead into a soft dough.
  4. Cover and let rise 1 hour.
  5. Divide dough into small balls.
  6. Stretch each into a flat round shape.
  7. Fry in hot oil 2–3 minutes per side until golden.
  8. Drain on paper.
  9. Rub with garlic water, then top with sour cream and cheese.
